Sheriff's Office Partners with
"Alive at 25"
May 25, 2010
The Edgefield County Sheriff's Office has partnered with the South Carolina
National Safety Council (SCNSC) to instruct the "Alive at 25" defensive driving program in Edgefield County. This program is
focused on drivers ages "15-24", to assist them in learning "why" so many youth are losing their lives on South Carolina highways
and "how" they can make better choices. In 2009, 188 young drivers were killed in SC collisions. Ages "14-25" accounted for 49% of
all crashes that were alcohol related. To learn more about the "Alive at 25" program, call Deputy Sonny Reel at 803-637-4086 or the
SCNSC at 803-732-6778
